1.   Keep in mind that holiday weddings are generally more formal than weddings occurring at other times of the year. Holidayweddings will often incorporate some of the season’s festive spirit.  When choosing your wardrobe, it is always better to dress a little more up than down.  You should also choose clothes that are warm, particularly if the wedding will be held outdoors.  The fabric can play an important part in this.

2.   Guys can add a little seasonal spice to their wardrobe buy adding certain fabrics.  When choosing a suit, guys can consider fabrics that are not generally seen at weddings other times of the year.  Things like flannel and tweed are a plus.  You can even accent your normal suit with a flannel vest.  Another way men can highlight the holidays is by adding a slash of red or green to their clothing.  A handkerchief in one of these colors is one of the best ways that this can be accomplished.  Avoid wearing gaudy clothing such as Christmas tree ties and other gimmick clothing that is not appropriate for such an event.   Check out the selection at Dapper Dan’s for all of your options.

3.   Women may choose rich fabrics like velvet and cashmere.  Nothing accents holidays better than a red or green cashmere sweater.  Some women may choose dresses that have fur trim.  Not only with this help you to stay warm but it will also add a great seasonal accent.  Scarves can also be appropriate depending on the venue.  Finally, one of the best ways that women can add that seasonal flair is with the right jewelry.  A snowflake broach is the perfect accent to almost any fashion choice.  You can also choose other traditional holiday symbols.  Because of its resemblance to ice, crystal is a good choice for these things.

4.   For evening weddings, you can’t go wrong by wearing the traditional short black cocktail dress.  Many of these items will be sleeveless so you may choose a shawl with a holiday pattern or color to help you stay warm and show off your holiday spirit.  Sequined ball gowns with tight fitting tops are another good choice.  Daytime weddings can go a little more casual.  Try a skirt and blouse with a velvet jacket and you will fit right in with the season.
